Complete the Qur’an. This Ramadan

Encouraging our youth to attach themselves to the Holy Qur'an

  • What is the “Complete the Qur’an. This Ramadan” drive?

Based on our assessment, less than 25% of our youth under the age of 25 complete one reading of the Holy Quran during the month of Ramadan. We want to improve that by launching this nationwide drive.

  • What if I or my child is not fluent in reciting the Quran in Arabic, are there any resources?

Yes. The National Talim-ul-Quran department has excellent resources available Please visit  https://www.alfurqan.us for help in this regard.

  • Will it count towards this program if I read just the translation or listen to the Tilawat of the Holy Quran?

Every effort made towards the Holy Quran carries an immense blessing and we encourage that. But for this challenge, reciting the Holy Quran in Arabic is necessary.

  • What is my reward?

The Holy Prophet (saw) stated: “Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will receive one good deed as ten good deeds like it. I do not say that Alif Lam Mim is one letter, but rather Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter, and Mim is a letter.” (Tirmidhi)

  • Who is responsible for this program in my jamaat?

Your local Tarbiyat Secretary. However, you can always contact the National Tarbiyat Department by emailing us at national.tarbiyat@ahmadiyya.us at any time.

  • What happens after Ramadan?

The goal is to build a long-lasting relationship with the Holy Quran. We will request everyone to work with us to inculcate the habit of the daily recitation of the Holy Quran after Ramadan too. Inshallah in the coming years, we will try to create various levels of this drive (Arabic only, Arabic with translation, Arabic with translation and commentary) for continuous improvement. This challenge is simply there to build that taste.

  • Why are we tracking the progress?

Huzoor-e-Anwar has repeatedly asked us to set goals and measure progress. That's why we will be tracking the number of youth who join this drive so that every year we can try to improve.

  • Should I read from a paper Quran or is it acceptable to read from the screen?

Of course, that’s your choice. But we recommend a paper Quran for the following three reasons:

    1. Research shows that we comprehend and remember better while reading from paper in comparison to a screen.
    2. You may be distracted by irrelevant notifications while reading from a screen.
    3. We tend to pay more attention to our physical cleanliness before touching a hard copy Quran as compared to when we read from a screen.
